About the Kaintuckeean

The Kaintuckeean is the brainchild of Peter Brackney. Peter is an attorney, local historian, preservationist and blogger (obviously) who adopted Kentucky as his home at an early age. A double alum of the University of Kentucky, he bleeds blue. He has previously served on the boards of both The Lexington History Museum and the Blue Grass Trust for Historic Preservation, as well as his church South Elkhorn Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) - which happens to be the oldest congregation in Fayette County.

In 2014, Peter published his first book - Lost Lexington - through the History Press. At his law firm, Brackney Law Office, PLLC, he represents Kentuckians in the areas of estate planning and bankruptcy.

From time to time, the Kaintuckeean also features contributed posts from a number of other awesome Kentuckians who love history and historic preservation.
